BLUE IS THE NEW GREEN y'all

Transforming your old jeans into cut-offs is a great way to recycle worn favorites (and add free clothes to your wardrobe).

However, denim giant Levi’s is striving for sustainability on a whole new level. While the company’s San Francisco headquarters undergoes renovation, the staffers decided to use excess jean fabric for a new, unexpected purpose- insulation. In addition to their own jeans, Levi’s is also taking unwanted denim from Goodwill.

This clever innovation isn’t Levi’s first attempt at multi-purpose denim. Back in 2008, they helped donate over 200 thousand pairs of jeans to insulate the California Academy of Arts and Sciences.

That’s definitely one way to reduce your heating bill.
